BONE, GUNSMITHING & KNIFEMAKER'S MATERIALS
Carefully dimensioned regular slabs of Water Buffalo horn for general stock and stock extension work, select pieces of buffalo horn for fore end caps. Knifemakers scales in Water Buffalo horn and peroxide treated domesticated Indian Camel bone.
Camel Bone squares
90 x 12 x 10mm, peroxided squares. May be used for tuning pegs in musical instruments.

Camel Bone flat section
Flat scales 135 x 37 x 3mm in peroxide finished domesticated Camel bone. Variety of uses but mainly used as inlays.
We can thickness these down as low as 1mm on request and at extra cost.

Buffalo horn scales 125mm
Regular Water buffalo scales at 125mm - knifemaking standard materials. Great character in "coloured" pieces - generally honey & greens wirh dark brown streaks.
Black material will often show white streaks and a certain blue / grey translucence in finishing.
We can thickness to specific (lesser) dimension if required at extra cost.

BUFFALO HORN SCALES 150mm
Intended for use in gunstock work. This material is selectively acquired by us from large, fat Water Buffalo horn stock of Indian origin, in order that the grain structure is as "tight" as possible. Material will polish with a certain "blue grey" /"oily" translucence, ocassional pieces have stronger figuring and will be available at a premium and by arrangment.
1", 7/8", 3/4" & 1/2" stock carried - we can thickness to precise individual requirements on request and at extra cost.
Good volume discounts of 1/2" material.

CAMEL BONE ( SAMBAR STAG LOOKALIKE )
Excellent Sambar Stag scale lookalike material, each piece unique and hand finished. All material has been dyed by immersion in Potassium Permanganate solution, giving a very dark "Verona" brown colour, which, just like the real thing, will surface polish to remove a lot or a little dye enabling the desired finished appearance to be achieved.

BONE SCALES ( SPRINGBOK HORN LOOKALIKE - WHITE)
Camel bone jigged to very attractively mimick antelope horn. Much favoured in knifemaking.
May be stained to achieve required finish or will weather to look like Ivory with use.
Dyed material also available - see below.

CAMEL BONE SCALES PLAIN
Flat backs, domed tops. Thickness will be in the range 6 - 9mm at domed point and 2 - 3mm at each side. Fine sanded, peroxided finish, will "weather in " to look like Ivory and excellent hard surface for Scrimshaw work.
Longer lengths of greatest use in restoration and historical work and may have minimal torsional twist to them.
