As Europe's foremost importers of quality Water Buffalo Horn, we carry a huge, diverse, quality stock, enabling us to cater to a wide variety of niche market requirements. We can cater for any requirement, from a single horn to a container load. Stock is held as solid tips, whole horns, hollows, plates ( scales ), strips and rollers (dowels). Whilst the main demand is for "stickmaking" there are few uses we haven't heard of or catered for. The main categories of Buffalo horn as a raw material are listed below. If you perhaps require material for something a little different, drop us an E mail and we shall be glad to assist.
Good regular crescent shaped horns,"in plane", well proportioned, free from splits, cracks and other visible defects. Grade "A" horns will leave nothing to chance for the stickmaker as they are "just the job" for this type of work and have more than adequate proportions. These are carefully selected from bulk stock, lesser pieces being downgraded to Grade "B" material or "Craft" material. Generously measured on the outer arc.
Typically a little thinner overall than the Grade "A" material, but sound and well shaped, - still considered by many to be the best value horns we offer. Some of the longer ones will shank "in reverse" giving carving potential on the nose end. If you are experienced in heating and shaping Buffalo horn, much can be achieved with these Grade "B's" for modest outlay.
